About Democracy Builders

Democracy Builders is a youth-led civic engagement initiative dedicated to empowering young Nigerians with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to actively participate in governance and nation-building.

We believe that when young people understand their civic rights and responsibilities, they are better equipped to influence the policies that shape their lives and communities.

Our mission is to foster a new generation of active citizens, particularly those aged 15 to 25 through inclusive civic education, innovative learning methods, and meaningful grassroots engagement.

We work in schools, NYSC camps, and underserved communities, ensuring that no one regardless of ability, gender, or education level is left behind. Whether through workshops, digital content, debates, or student-led projects, we’re creating spaces where young voices are not just heard, but also empowered to lead change.

This is more than a project, it is a movement. A movement to transform apathy into action, disillusionment into dialogue, and passive youth into proud citizens.

Advocacy

At Democracy Builders, Advocacy is Action – intentional, inclusive, and always youth-focused.

We’re building a civic culture where Gen Z can boldly engage with governance without fear, shame, or confusion. Our advocacy work centers around equipping young people to understand political processes, demand accountability, and drive change in their schools, communities, and country.

From organizing grassroots civic clubs to hosting 360° advocacy workshops and digital campaigns, our approach is practical, engaging, and rooted in the lived experiences of young Nigerians. We use storytelling, technology, visual content, and real-life examples to demystify civic participation and connect it to everyday realities.

We advocate for a Nigeria where civic education is not a privilege, but a right. Where young women, people with disabilities, and less-educated youth are given equal footing in the democratic process. And where civic engagement is not an event, but a lifestyle.

We’re not just calling for change. We’re training the changemakers.
